Wondering how to get those pretty blurred backgrounds? How to get focus right? How to edit pictures to make them look more 'pro'? How to avoid grainy pictures? How to choose the right lens?
A course for anyone who owns a camera and wants to get a better understanding of how cameras works, which settings to use when and why, and how to create great images and edit them.
No need to read pages after pages (or watch videos after videos) of super technical stuff that you'll never use. In this course I will tell you about the settings and tricks that I use all the time and that are essential so you don't get overwhelmed with stuff you don't need to know about.
In the first chapter I'll start with the basics and go over how cameras work, what an image sensor is and explain the difference between DSLRs and Mirrorless cameras and their pros and cons.
This chapter will cover aperture, shutter speed, iso and how to combine the three to get the best exposure for your pictures. I'll also go over the different camera modes and explain how auto ISO and exposure compensation can help.
I will explain what depth of field is and how to control it. This chapter will also cover the different focus settings and explain how to achieve background blur or 'bokeh'.
In this chapter I'll give you some tips on how to handle different lighting situations and how to get creative with light by breaking the rules (I'll explain how to create silhouette images, sun stars and sun flares, how to use long exposure creatively)
In chapter 5 I go over tons of different composition rules (the rule of thirds, symmetry, leading lines, foreground interest, fill the frame, negative space, the golden ratio, framing your subject), I explain how to use them and show you loads of examples to give you some inspiration!
Pretty much anyone who owns a camera!
Whether you've never ventured beyond your camera's auto mode and have no idea what you're doing, or whether you're hoping to perfect your composition and editing, this course is perfect for you. It's easy to follow, full of example images, the (small amount of) technical jargon is explained and there's even some homework for you to practice what you're learned at home.
'I kind of know how to use a camera but I want to get off auto mode'
'I have no idea what I'm doing'
'I know how to use my camera but I need to refresh my memory and learn to make my pictures look pro'
